Functional yarn - UV resistant yarn

UV is a general term for radiation in the electromagnetic spectrum with wavelengths from 10nm to 400nm, which cannot cause vision, and it consists of three different wavelengths in the ultraviolet spectral region. This band of UV radiation can strongly stimulate the skin to accelerate skin metabolism, strengthen skin growth force and thicken the skin.

UV radiation to the human body makes the skin darker and the skin has a significant pigmentation effect, which is the dark spot effect of UV radiation.

In addition, the UV portion of the solar radiation wave is both beneficial and harmful to humans. Proper UV exposure helps human health, and at the same time, UV light has sterilizing and disinfecting effects. However, excessive UV exposure can cause redness, dermatitis, pigmentation, accelerated aging and even cancer in human skin.

There are generally two ways to make textiles have the function of shielding or absorbing UV rays.

One is to give the fabric anti-UV function through finishing.

The second is the use of anti-UV function of fiber raw materials to develop textile products with anti-UV function.

Due to the different mechanisms of action of the added anti-UV additives, the mechanism of action of anti-UV fibers are of two types.

  1. the added substances are UV shielding agents that have a reflective effect on UV, such as ultra-fine powders of certain metal oxides.

  2. The added substances have strong absorption of UV and can reduce the amount of UV transmission through energy conversion.

The more common UV protection fiber materials are mostly polyester, acrylic and other chemical fiber products. These chemical fibers have some special groups to make it have the function of UV protection.

Polyester and other polyester molecules contain benzene rings, which have good absorption of UV light less than 300nm; acrylic fiber itself is an anti-UV fiber, the -CN group in its structure can absorb UV energy and turn into heat energy to dissipate, so the energy conducted into the fiber is very little, which can play the role of UV protection.

General textile products because of the fabric&39;s tissue structure already has a certain anti-UV function, thus the use of anti-UV fibers or the use of finishing to make the fabric with anti-UV function is not the main means, but the anti-UV fabric does have its distinctive strengths, and the preparation means of anti-UV fibers is not complicated, the relevant products have entered the market, but there is still some room for development.

Properties and functions of UV-resistant yarn

★Use of ceramic clay and metal compounds made of UV-resistant polyester fiber and *combed cotton spinning.

★It has the effect of UV insulation to prevent tanning, dark spots, dermatitis and other effects.

★Anti-UV agent is added in Polymer, UV-CUT effect has long-lasting water resistance better than post-treatment fabric.

  Application of anti-UV yarn

UV-resistant fabrics have a wide range of applications and can be used to make various types of clothing, especially summer clothing. It can also make sunshade, sun hat, travel tent, etc.

Knitted fabrics: leisure wear, sportswear, etc.

Woven fabrics: shirts, curtains, hats, umbrellas, etc.
